EssentialDuties
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Coastline and our outsourced collections firm, fostering effective communication and collaboration to swiftly address collection issues or concerns.
- Review delinquency reports, collection queues, and returned items to determine appropriate collection actions. Maintain a bi‑weekly spreadsheet of problem accounts or accounts requiring monitoring due to past status.
- Contact members in compliance with the FDCPA, setting up and negotiating payment arrangements according to collection policy. Utilize various resources to skip‑trace un‑locatable members.
- Provide guidance and support to branch personnel on collection‑related matters.
- Create and mail letters or other collection correspondence as required. Scan and organize relevant documents into the Synergy system for accessibility and proper record‑keeping.
- Develop, refine, and maintain collection procedures and forms, aligning with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Perform file maintenance for charged‑off loans, Visa, or negative accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all collection and recovery activity
- Keep the servicing leadership team informed regarding key operating issues affecting the department
- Create and develop procedures and forms for job‑related duties
- Provide a friendly, professional, accurate service and support to all members and staff
- Minimum of two years of collections experience involving direct member contact (not through an auto‑dialer).
- Equivalent experience in a financial institution or credit union is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalency required.
