Overview
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the

- You will perform motorized or walking patrols of the installation.
- You will determine shortest and safest routes to and from destinations.
- You will perform law enforcement duties at fixed posts such as entry and exit gates throughout the installation.
- You will set up and conduct checkpoint/roadblocks at various locations throughout the installation.
- You will warn and/or use force to restrain and apprehend violators.
- You will issue military citations for violations of laws and regulations.
- You will conduct daily inspections of posts and take immediate action to correct discrepancies noted.
- You will evaluate situations to respond using the minimum degree of force necessary to neutralize an incident.
- You will detain those who violate rules, regulations, and pertinent laws on public or private property.
- You will draft documents (e.g., sworn statements, affidavits, in-depth reports) where the placement of victims, cars, and responsibility are crucial (e.g., homicide, severe accidents).
- You will investigate circumstances or individuals that appear unusual or suspicious to prevent crime.
- You will perform police patrols via motorized vehicle, walking, boats, or bicycling.
- You will complete patrol logs or computerized building check sheets prior to ending duty.
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position.
- GS-07: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-06, including maintaining order and protecting life and property; responding to emergency calls; subduing and disarming offenders; conducting investigative stops; gathering and analyzing facts; seizing and protecting evidence; interviewing witnesses; conducting preliminary investigations; advising violators of rights; processing accident scenes; and presenting evidence in court.
- GS-06: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-05, including responding to police assistance and emergency calls; enforcing traffic laws and issuing citations; conducting traffic stops and vehicle searches; subduing and restraining individuals; providing first aid; and writing incident reports.
- GS-05: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-04 providing knowledge of basic laws and regulations; law enforcement procedures; routine fixed post assignments; regulating access to buildings; governing rights of individuals; and conducting security perimeter patrol.
- GS-04: General experience including administrative, clerical, technical, or military work involving protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; plus six months of specialized experience in basic laws and law enforcement operations.

EducationYou may also qualify based on education or a combination of education and experience as listed above. See the Education section for details. Education cannot be used for Police Officer positions at the GS-06 and above.

Conditions of employment include the ability to use police equipment, certify in radar, field sobriety tests, batons, and other required certifications; ability to respond off-base; pre-appointment training; personal protective equipment; and security clearances as required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license and, if applicable, a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator’s license.
