Responsibilities

• Performs a comprehensive ophthalmic assessment on ocular patients.
• Performs diagnostic tests as indicated or as requested by the ophthalmologist.
• Functions autonomously as part of an integrated team of ophthalmic support services.
• Performs patient education in regard to treatment of ocular conditions as well as preventative care.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED.
• Two years' experience as an ophthalmic assistant.
• Must have technical and diagnostic skills to perform a comprehensive ophthalmic assessment along with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have effective keyboarding skills.
• COA certification required. COT or COMT certification preferred.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.; $24.07 - 34.95 / hour;
