Responsibilities- Meets with every new obstetrics patient.
- Completes the medical history intake with the patient and opens the OB flow sheet.
- Ensures OB prenatal paperwork is completed to include, NICA, consent to treat, consent to deliver, and financial agreements.
- Reviews the pregnancy guidebook with the patient.
- Provides maternity education to patients.
- Monitors OB blood work and provides results if requested.
- Handles referrals to maternal fetal medicine (MFM), nutritionist, and/or infusion center if needed.
- Contacts non-compliant patients to facilitate follow up.
- Pulls delivery notes and conducts post-partum calls.
- Reviews and discusses OB budget.
- Works with financial staff to ensure OB payments are current.
- Answers patient questions and provides information within the scope of knowledge.
- Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
- Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have an active and valid RN License in the State of Florida.
- 1-3 years of healthcare experience within an OBGYN or OB practice/department.
- Must have knowledge of OB practices and guidelines.
- Excellent customer service.
- Able to communicate medical information clearly.
- Attention to detail.
- Meticulous documentation and follow up.
Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, preferably eClinical Works (eCW). - Knowledge of medical office protocols, procedures, and processes (universal precautions, risk management, patient information confidentiality, etc.).
