Community Nutrition Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Community Nutrition Coordinator plays a crucial role in the Feeding Northeast Florida (FNEFL) Nutrition Department, supporting strategies and partnerships aimed at providing access to healthy and nutritious foods, enhancing individual and family stability, and addressing food insecurity across the region. This position involves delivering community‑based nutrition education, conducting cooking demonstrations, supporting food‑is‑medicine initiatives, and maintaining strong relationships with community partners.

Principal

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Utilize assigned curricula to deliver localized nutrition education at program sites and partner agencies.
  • Conduct cooking demonstrations at community events and partner sites.
  • Uphold policies, principles, and best practices for food safety, attain Serv Safe certification, and complete other required trainings.
  • Administer pre‑post and delayed‑post assessments to participants, maintaining accurate records.
  • Plan and provide a monthly itinerary to the Program Manager.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records of hours worked and job duties performed.
  • Enhance relationships with assigned FNEFL partner sites.
  • Effectively utilize internal comprehensive data‑reporting structures and platforms.
  • Demonstrate a pleasant, professional, and helpful attitude at all times.
  • Assist other FNEFL staff on special projects as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Note on Funding
  • This is a grant‑funded position and may be time‑limited as funding permits.
  • Temporary full‑time – no benefits eligible.
Job Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school diploma required;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience or exemplary experience in lieu of education preference.
  • Demonstrated experience in public speaking, training, and group presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience working in low‑income, culturally diverse communities.
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations, including non‑English speakers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Canva.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments independently.
  • A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation; travel across the 12‑county service area and at least twice annually overnight statewide.
Work Environment

This position is in a mixed office/warehouse setting requiring flexible schedule and travel to accommodate FNEFL events. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under all weather conditions.

Physical Demands

Essential duties include sitting and using a computer for long periods, standing and walking periodically, lifting up to 50 lbs, and performing activities that may involve stooping, pushing, and prolonged sitting.
