As an Occupational Therapist with Southeast Orthopedic Specialists, you’ll play a key role in helping patients regain independence, improve functionality, and enhance their quality of life. Working collaboratively with physicians and a multidisciplinary care team, you’ll assess, plan, and deliver individualized treatment designed to empower patients to live active, fulfilling lives.
What You’ll Do- Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and care teams.
- Assist patients in developing, recovering, or maintaining daily living and work‑related skills.
- Guide patients through exercises to increase strength, dexterity, coordination, and cognitive function.
- Use a variety of tools and computer‑based programs to improve decision‑making, problem‑solving, memory, and coordination.
- Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, orthotics, and daily living aids.
- Document patient progress, treatment, and outcomes according to practice policies.
- Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Provide compassionate communication and support to patients and their families.

- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s degree preferred)
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Successful completion of the national certification exam
- Current CPR certification
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred
- New graduates with strong orthopedic backgrounds will be considered
- Requirements:
- Hand therapy experience required
- Must hold a valid state Physical Therapy license
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles, standards, and practices
- Familiarity with orthopedic care, adaptive equipment, and therapeutic devices
- Ability to assess, plan, and adjust treatment based on patient progress
- Excellent communication, documentation, and patient engagement skills
- Ability to collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and safely transfer patients (up to 50+ lbs)
- Work primarily in medical office or exam room settings; occasional home or workplace visits may be required
- Exposure to standard clinical risks such as communicable diseases and biohazards
- Organizational Requirements:
- Must review and sign acknowledgment of HOPCo Mission, Vision, and Values
- Completion of all OSHA safety and compliance training
