Per Diem Radiology Technologist
Immediately hiring a Per Diem Radiology Technologist for a Monday‑Friday schedule at Surg Center of Greater Jacksonville, a surgically‑focused center that performs thousands of procedures a year. The Radiology Technologist will demonstrate first‑class customer service and work as part of a highly‑motivated team.
Responsibilities- Perform the duties in the primary work area
- Operate X‑ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts as specified by physicians; adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage, and current according to radiation safety procedures.
- Prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment; explain X‑ray procedures to patients; position patients for each anatomical view using immobilization and protective devices; report any changes in patient condition to attending medical staff.
- Monitor accessory equipment and assist attending physicians with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies.
- Record the amount and type of film exposed; label film with identifying information; sort as required.
- Consult with lead X‑ray tech and radiologist to ensure compliance with established standards of quality.
- Process film according to standardized procedures and maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Technology.
- Minimum 2 years of previous management experience preferred.
- AART Registered and CPR Current.
- Knowledgeable of local, state, federal and Joint Commission regulations.
- Must possess independent decision‑making skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and non‑verbally in a professional manner.
- Minimum of 1 year orthopedic experience required for this position.
