TEMPORARY FT MEDICAL BILLING AND A/R COLLECTIONS REPRESENTATIVE
The Patient Accounts Rep is primarily responsible for timely follow up of insurance claims until the final disposition. This includes following up on billed claims, researching and resolving denied claims, and working with other departments as necessary. The role requires administrative and critical thinking skills, the ability to multi‑task, and the judgement to handle complex account problems. Excellent customer service is essential when answering questions and finding resolutions to billing issues.
The role uses Excel spreadsheets and requires understanding of credit balances and insurance verification. This position assists the Business Office Director with special projects as needed.
- A minimum of a high school graduate or equivalent
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Healthcare Administration preferred
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounts receivable or billing, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Excel or equivalent experience in a business office environment
- May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours
