Medical Assistant I-Neurosurgery – Nemours Children’s Health, Jacksonville, FL

Nemours Children’s Health is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to support the Neurosurgery division in Jacksonville, FL. The MA is a vital liaison between patients, families, providers, and the care team, ensuring seamless patient flow and high quality clinical support.

• Greets patients and families, verifies patient identity with two identifiers.
• Prepares exam rooms, maintains inventory of clinic supplies, and ensures all diagnostic reports are present.
• Collects and documents vital signs, height, weight, and head circumference.
• Obtains patient history, documents chief complaint, and initiates orders per protocol.
• Assists with patient examinations, performs point‑of‑care testing, administers vaccines, and collects routine laboratory specimens.
• Operates required medical equipment and records results accurately.
• Acts as a liaison between support services, clinical divisions, and patients regarding wait‑time status.
• Confirms appointment status by making non‑automated confirmation calls.

• High School Diploma required.
• Healthcare and customer service experience preferred; educational experience may be counted.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA required within three months of employment and must be maintained.
