Echocardiographer

Overview

Performs echocardiograms on adult and pediatric inpatient/outpatients.

Required

Education:

GED or High School Diploma

Preferred Education:

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer

Necessary

Skills:

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer/patient service, problem solving, time management and organizational skill, be a team player, excellent communication skills including telephone etiquette.
• Ability to recognize life‑threatening findings and notify physicians.
• Ability to calculate test results.
• Uses good body mechanics.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Serves as patient advocate.
• Good organizational skills basic computer data entry.

Required Licensure/

Certifications:

BLS certification from the American Heart Association CCI or ARDMS required within one (1) year of hire or transfer date.

Amount of

Experience:

Less than one (1) year minimum.

Preferred Experience:

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
