Florida Pediatric Associates is hiring an Ophthalmic Scribe – PECNF to join Pediatric Eye Consultants of North Florida, a Division of FPA.

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ophthalmic Scribe Certification
Experience:
- Preferred:
Minimum 1+ years working as a Ophthalmic Scribe in a medical practice
- Support the physician by preparing exam rooms and appropriate equipment
- Prepare patients for provider examination by performing and recording appropriate diagnostics
- Review and record patient medical history
- Accurately scribe all patient encounters, including consultations and/or discussions with approved family members, referring providers, and/or PCPs
- Document the patient encounter
- Coordinate patient care as directed by the treating provider to allow for proper diagnosis and treatment of patients’ conditions
- Perform and record results of basic ocular screening and patient history
- Assist in the efficient movement/flow of patients through sequence and evaluation
- Medically assist the doctor through the patient examination
- Scribe and document for the doctor
- Prepare examination rooms to provide all needed medications, forms, consents and educational materials
- Coordinate special testing needs with technicians and surgical needs with surgical counselors
- Create a sterile environment using sterile technique
- Assist doctor with patient calls, pharmacy calls, etc.; return all patient phone calls the same day received
- Communicate all doctor instructions to patients and/or other doctors’ offices as directed; fax reports, letters, post‑op visits, etc., to referring doctors
- Provide assistance to other clinic personnel as needed
- Serve as brand representative for FPA by embracing the company culture and mission statement, core values and standards of conduct
- Strictly adhere to all standards, including compliance, privacy, workplace and workforce standards
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement processes
- Participate in the corporate compliance program
- Promptly report suspected acts of non‑compliance with company standards and policies
- Participate in job‑related continuing education programs
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or designee
