- Accountable for day‑to‑day non‑clinical pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Supervise and develop pharmacy technician personnel, including hiring, training, performance management, and schedule coordination.
- Assist pharmacists with patient registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, counting, and verification.
- Drive operational excellence through workflow coordination, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and technology/process roll‑outs.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, state and federal laws, and the Wal‑Green Co. Good Faith Dispensing policy.
- Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to continuous quality improvement programs.
- Engage customers by greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving complaints in a timely manner.
- Build relationships by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, enhancing the overall experience.
- Assist pharmacists in patient care activities, including vaccine administration and health screening where allowed by law.
- Delegate, direct, and assign non‑clinical work while ensuring tasks are completed on time and workflow is efficient.
- Prepare and file required reports and records for the company and government agencies.
- Manage the core pharmacy workflow, coordinate daily schedules, and recommend staffing and hours.
- Maintain accurate processing of insurance claims, follow up with providers and insurance companies, and support audit activities.
- Support the Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.
- Lead performance management of technicians, including discipline and termination decisions, and ensure compliance with laws.
- Oversee technician hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and record retention according to company policies.
- Assist in monitoring licensure, registration, and certification status for pharmacy and team members.
- Maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and ongoing state requirements.
- Enhance current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare.
- Obtain necessary certifications, education credits, and training as required by the company.
- Communicate with pharmacy team and relay messages from support centers.
- Participate in store/pharmacy meetings, including 5‑minute meetings and weekly check‑ins with the Store Manager.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations).
- Previous people management/leadership experience.
- Previous work experience with Walgreens and an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.

The actual hourly salary within this range that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors. This role will remain open until filled.
