Baptist is currently hiring for a Full‑Time Days Referrals Coordinator to join our Total Access Program Department at our Southbank Plaza location here in the Jacksonville, FL area.
Shift Details:
Sunday – Thursday. 8‑hour day shift (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM)
Patient Access Services interacts with staff, patients, internal departments, physician practices and insurance companies to obtain maximum reimbursement through established authorization for advanced imaging procedures and order entry. The referral coordinator is responsible for insurance eligibility and obtaining advanced imaging authorizations for BPC, BPE, Baptist Specialty Offices and Imaging. Must meet performance expectations, including but not limited to authorization productivity, 3 accounts/hour.
Skills required:
multi‑tasking; highly organized, detail oriented with the ability to prioritize workload and teamwork distribution in a call center environment.
As a Referrals Coordinator, you will be responsible for
- Providing referral assistance to physicians, patients, and insurance companies.
- Scheduling appointments, obtaining authorizations, and collecting patient responsibilities at the time of scheduling.
- Accurately completing verification of insurance benefits and authorizations using online tools and/or direct contact with insurance carrier.

Experience
- Less than 1 year Medical Office Experience
License and Certification
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) Preferred
