Abstractor- Quality Lead

Full Time Position

Monday - Friday

8:00am - 5:00pm

Insures reliable, timely abstraction of clinical data. Responsible for planning data needs, analysis of clinical data and integration of data from various sources. Works with a variety of stakeholders to ensure data accuracy. Organizes and presents data to various clinical and administrative leaders.

Required

Education:

Bachelor's degree - healthcare related; statistics; data analysis

Preferred Education: Master's degree (prefer public health, health administration or business); completion of a clinical course (prefer physician, nurse, pharmacist)

Required Experience: 1-2 years data abstraction, data analysis, acute care setting

• Ability to navigate in an electronic health record environment
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Ability to interpret and apply abstraction algorithms, rules, and specifications
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
• Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of problems
• Strong working knowledge of computer software including:
  Microsoft Office Suite, Business Objects, Visio,
• Strong working knowledge of data analysis techniques and statistical tools
• The ability to deal with both abstract and concrete concepts
• Ability to work with a variety of internal and external databases, including web-based databases
• Must be able to develop and provide written and oral presentations within the scope of the job to a variety of groups.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to inquiries and produce unbiased analysis of controversial or complex topics.
• This position will have access to high level, sensitive, confidential, data. Must be able to maintain this data in a confidential manner.
