Medicus Spine & Joint is a growing multi-speciality healthcare organization.

We're looking for an experienced Certified Medical Coder / Billing Specialist who understands that accurate coding, clean claims, and consistent follow-through are essential to a successful revenue cycle.

We need someone who knows the codes, understands the billing process, catches errors before they become denials, and takes ownership of getting claims paid.

If you're detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and enjoy solving complex billing challenges, we'd like to meet you.

What You'll Do
  • Medical Coding:
Review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD
    10CM
, CPT, and HCPCS codes for medical services and procedures.
  • Charge Review:
Audit charges for coding accuracy, appropriate modifiers, medical necessity, and documentation completeness.
  • Claims Management:
Prepare, review, and submit clean claims while identifying and correcting billing errors.
  • Denial Management:
Investigate rejected, denied, and underpaid claims, make corrections, and submit timely appeals.
  • Accounts Receivable:
Monitor aging reports, prioritize outstanding balances, and follow up to secure reimbursement.
  • Payment Reconciliation:
Review payment postings, adjustments, and remittance information to identify discrepancies.
  • Compliance:
Maintain compliance with HIPAA, payer guidelines, coding standards, and applicable billing regulations.
  • Revenue Cycle Improvement:
Identify recurring coding errors, reimbursement trends, and opportunities to improve collections.
  • Team

    Collaboration:

Work with providers, clinical staff, and billing team members to resolve documentation and reimbursement issues.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Active medical coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA, such as CPC, CCS, CCA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of handson medical coding and billing experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of ICD
    10CM
, CPT, HCPCS, and coding modifiers.
  • Experience with electronic claims submission, denial resolution, and insurance followup.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical documentation.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, meet deadlines, and work independently.

You take ownership of your work, communicate clearly, and understand how your attention to detail directly impacts the financial performance of the medical practices we support.

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation based on experience and certification
