KPMG is currently seeking a Temporary Senior Engineer, Technology Operations Center for a twelve-month assignment to join our Digital Nexus technology organization.
Responsibilities- Provide expert-level technical support to application teams using the Open Shift platform; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Open Shift virtualization platform or other virtualization platforms
- Work closely with application teams to understand their requirements and provide guidance and recommendations to optimize their Open Shift virtualization deployment
- Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of industry directions and trends
- Collaborate with other teams such as operations and middleware to ensure timely resolution of issues; participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical issues
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including knowledge base articles and best practices; contribute to the development of automation tools and scripts to improve support processes
- Mentor and train other support engineers to improve their technical skills and knowledge of Open Shift
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
- Minimum three years of recent experience managing medium- to large-scale container platforms (including rollout, automation, and scaling) and providing technical support for enterprise applications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Practical experience with Open Shift (installation, configuration, troubleshooting) and a solid understanding of containerization and Kubernetes; demonstrated ability to engineer CI/CD processes in an enterprise environment, preferably with tools like Git Hub Actions or Jenkins
- Scripting experience using languages such as Shell, Bash, Python, or Power Shell, coupled with a firm knowledge of the SDLC lifecycle; experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare, KVM) is a plus, and coding experience with software development languages is preferred
- Strong verbal/written communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients, IT management, and team members
- Detail-oriented and thorough, with excellent technical writing skills, effective time management, and the ability to mentor less experienced team members
