This position reports to the Manager of Community-Based Initiatives within the GCCD. The role involves assisting with data systems, customer service projects, technical research for system development, reporting, data visualization, and collection. It also includes administrative tasks and light monitoring responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities- Gathers data from various sources (e.g., databases, spreadsheets, APIs), identifying inconsistencies, and ensuring data quality through cleaning and validation processes.
- Performs statistical analysis to identify trends, correlations, and anomalies using techniques like descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. This may involve querying data with SQL, running models in R or Python, or applying mathematical formulas.
- Creates charts and dashboards with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Excel, and prepares reports to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborates with teams to analyze data for forecasting sales, optimizing pricing, and enhancing customer experience.
- Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), conducts quality control, and recommends process enhancements based on data trends.
- Assists with data entry, data systems technology research, development, and coordination of project deliverables.
- Troubleshoots application issues and works with development and administrative teams to resolve.
- Adheres to policies and procedures. Identifies opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of procedures and processes.
- Monitors multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Works with COJ federal grant staff to diagram and document business and system requirements and collaborate with the Manager of Community-Based Initiatives to test and implement solutions.
- Assists in creating, reviewing and submitting Legal Request, RFPs, and contracts.
- Oversees the invoicing and receipting process associated with activities related to federal funding utilizing the 1
Cloud system.
- Takes minutes during meetings and creates detailed summaries.
- Provides oversight and monitors project performance.
- Collaborates with providers to ensure data is submitted into the data system (e.g. Kintone) and is effectively used. Utilizes the collected information to improve program outcomes through advanced data analysis and interpretation.
- Performs other duties, as required.
- Knowledge, understanding, and utilization of statistical methods, data mining techniques, and performance analytics.
- Knowledge of tools and technologies such as SQL, Python/R, Tableau, Power BI, and statistical software.
- Knowledge of relational database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Postgre
SQL, MySQL, etc.). - Knowledge of extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes and basic machine learning concepts.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting and maintaining database systems.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data findings and present them in an understandable and actionable format.
- Demonstrated proficiency in maintaining attention to detail and ensuring accuracy in data handling and analysis.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including using Microsoft Office Excel and other related software.
- Ability to apply math and statistics to interpret data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Ability to translate business needs into data‑driven approaches.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Skill in creating reports, charts, and graphs.
This is a part‑time position.
A minimum of four (4) years of education and/or experience in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, economics, business analytics or a related field.
