Role DescriptionArcadis is seeking a qualified individual for a Programming/Scripting Specialist candidate to provide analytical and coding support for web service development, mobile applications, Python scripting, and GIS application development for local and state Departments of Transportation. Projects focus on data management, visualization, reporting, analysis, and maintenance of enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using Esri based software. This role will sit within the larger Global Mobility Business Area.
RoleAccountabilities
- Develop applications using Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code and create scripts to integrate, transform, convert, and validate enterprise data stores.
- Develop web services for interrogating and distributing enterprise data, leveraging code repositories such as Git Hub with Dev Ops practices.
- Create databases and schemas within Oracle and SQL Server environments, and design FME or KNIME workflows for data integration and validation.
- Analyze and create datasets to support enterprise reporting and distribution; integrate datasets for reporting purposes.
- Identify and design data business processes and use cases.
- Validate, troubleshoot, and resolve errors in applications, data transformations, and related processes.
- Work with GIS datasets utilizing Esri technologies.
- Bachelors in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
- 2 or more years’ post‑graduate experience in technology/visualization software, or relevant experience/qualifying certification.
- Exposure to programming languages (Java, C#/C++, .Net, etc.).
- Exposure to scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, JSON, SQL, XML, etc.).
- Exposure to frontend languages (HTML5, CSS, etc.).
- Exposure to Cloud Services (Azure, AWS, etc.).
- Proficiency in Safe Software FME Desktop, FME Server, FME Cloud, or KNIME.
- Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro products (ArcGIS Pro, Experience Builder, Field Maps, Portal, Survey
123, etc.). - Experience with linear referencing toolsets.
- Extensive familiarity with enterprise database environments, including versioning concepts (Oracle, SQL Server).
- Demonstrating progressive and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Advanced analytics and data visualization techniques; experience working with web services.
