Senior Payments SME (Domestic Wire & ACH)

We are looking for a highly skilled Techno-Functional SME with deep expertise in Payments, Domestic Wire, and ACH operations within the Banking domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of functional knowledge and technical capability, able to translate business requirements into effective system solutions while supporting payment operations, compliance, and technology teams.

• Act as the subject matter expert for Payments, Domestic Wire Transfer, and ACH processes.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, pain points, and compliance needs.
• Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Support design, configuration, and enhancement of payment systems and integrations.
• Lead and participate in UAT, regression testing, and validation for payment-related changes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in partnership with technical teams.
• Ensure compliance with NACHA rules, Fedwire guidelines, and banking regulatory requirements.
• Document current-state and future-state process flows and system mappings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technology, compliance, operations, and QA.
• Provide ongoing expertise and support for payment modernization initiatives.

• 10+ years of experience in the banking or financial services domain.
• Strong expertise in Domestic Wire, ACH, Payment Operations, and related compliance (NACHA, Fedwire).
• Proven techno-functional background—ability to understand data flows, system architecture, and integration points.
• Hands‑on experience with payment systems (FIS, Fiserv, ACI, Temenos, Oracle, or similar).
• Ability to write functional/technical requirements, BRDs, and user stories.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience supporting production issues.
• Solid understanding of payment rails, settlement cycles, exceptions handling, and reconciliation.
• Effective communication skills to work with both business users and technology teams.

• Experience with APIs, ISO 20022, SWIFT formats, and payment modernization projects.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and automation tools.
• Prior involvement in wire/ACH compliance audits or regulatory reviews.
