• Performance & Optimization: Query tuning, indexing strategies, vacuum tuning, EXPLAIN/ANALYZE
• Backup & Recovery: PITR, WAL archiving, DR planning & testing
• Security & Compliance: Role-based access, encryption, auditing, least privilege
• Cloud & Platforms: AWS RDS/Aurora Postgre
  
  SQL, GCP Cloud SQL, Azure PostgreSQL
• Automation & Dev Ops: Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines
• Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, _statements, Cloud Watch

• Design, deploy, administer, and maintain Postgre
  
  SQL databases in production and non-production environments
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and restore strategies (e.g., replication, failover, point-in-time recovery)
• Monitor database performance and proactively tune queries, indexes, and configurations
• Manage database upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal downtime
• Implement and enforce database security best practices, including access control, encryption, and auditing
• Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide root cause analysis
• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools
• Collaborate with application developers to design efficient schemas and queries
• Support capacity planning, performance benchmarking, and scalability initiatives
• Document database architectures, standards, and operational procedures
• Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams

• 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL
• Deep understanding of Postgre
  
  SQL internals (MVCC, vacuuming, indexing, query planner)
• Hands-on experience with replication and high-availability solutions (e.g., streaming replication, logical replication, Patroni, Pgpool-II)
• Strong experience with backup and recovery tools (e.g., pgBackRest, Barman)
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments
• Strong SQL skills and experience with performance tuning
• Experience scripting in at least one language (Bash, Python, or similar)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana,  views, etc.)

• Experience managing Postgre
  
  SQL in cloud environments (AWS RDS/Aurora, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of containerized and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with configuration management or IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Exposure to Dev Ops and CI/CD practices
• Postgre
  
  SQL certifications or relevant cloud certifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Ability to work independently and lead initiatives
