Associate Attorney

A highly regarded regional law firm in downtown Jacksonville is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney with a strong background in construction-related claims and commercial defense matters.

Base pay range: $/yr - $/yr

Compensation: $120,000 – $160,000 (DOE)

Practice Areas: Construction Law | Insurance Defense | Complex Civil Litigation

• Lead and manage a diverse caseload involving construction defect, property damage, and commercial liability claims.
• Handle all aspects of litigation — from initial pleadings to discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
  .
• Draft high-quality motions, discovery responses, and legal correspondence.
• Work directly with clients and experts to develop effective defense strategies.
• Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on high-value, complex matters.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, keeping them informed and confident throughout the process.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 5–7 years of experience in construction, commercial, or insurance defense litigation
  .
• Proven ability to manage cases independently and work effectively within a team.
• Excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong deposition, discovery, and motion practice experience.

• Experience with Pro Law or similar case management software.
• Familiarity with engineering or construction defect claims
  .
• First or second-chair trial experience a plus.
• Background in risk assessment and negotiation strategy.
• Base Salary: $120,000 – $160,000, commensurate with experience.
