Position Objective – Accounting Supervisor:
The Accounting Supervisor supports the Director of Finance in overseeing daily operations within the Accounting Department. This position plays a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The Accounting Supervisor will lead a team responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliation. As the company evolves, so will the scope and responsibilities of this role.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervises the accounting team responsible for AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Provides guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations for accounting staff.
- Assists in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
- Monitor and maintain daily accounting operations including invoicing, cash receipts, disbursements, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings.
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and management reports.
- Review account reconciliations and journal entries for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement approved changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Quick Books and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular).
- Familiarity with inventory accounting and controls preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Experience in inventory control and multi-location operations preferred.
- CPA or CMA designation is a plus, but not required.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Occasional travel between locations may be required.
