Job Overview

Collins Aerospace Engineered Polymer Products (EPP), located in Jacksonville, FL, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II. This role focuses on developing, documenting, and improving manufacturing processes for marine applications used by the U.S. Navy.

Responsibilities
  • Design and plan layouts for assembly and materials handling.
  • Document sequence of operations and specification procedures for fabrication tools and equipment.
  • Provide design guidance to optimize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Adapt machine and equipment designs to factory and production standards.
  • Conduct detailed design work focused on the layout of assembly and materials handling operations.
  • Improve production methods to reduce waste.
  • Assist in developing time and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with Operations, EH&S, Quality, and other stakeholders to create a safe, efficient work environment.
  • Assume leadership responsibility for all build‑related issues.
  • Track manufacturing-related issues and ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Drive product quality improvements through process development, including Level‑Two mistake proof implementation where possible.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • A University Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years in Composite Manufacturing Engineering, including creation and optimization of composite manufacturing procedures and processes, or an advanced degree in a related field.
  • Approximately two years of experience working on engineering/manufacturing projects.
  • Experience writing standard work instructions/SOPs.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Prior experience with fiberglass, carbon fiber, or rubber materials.
  • Experience with mechanical fabrication and assembly.
  • Experience designing, laying out, and troubleshooting manufacturing cells.
  • Process improvement experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • CAD experience (Solid Works, AutoCAD).
