Job Description

IKO is a global leader in manufacturing roofing products and is currently seeking a Millwright to join our team at our Clay Hill, FL plant. This plant produces premium roofing shingles and composite rolled roofing in a high-speed, continuous asphalt shingle manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be fully qualified to optimize plant performance through troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.

Position Overview

The Millwright will report directly to the Maintenance Superintendent and will be responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring the proper operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.

Identify sources of mechanical problems by observing devices in operation and listening for issues, utilizing precision measuring and testing instruments.

Remove defective parts through dismantling using hoists, cranes, and hand or power tools, and examine parts for form and texture.

Inspect used parts to determine dimensional changes using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.

Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments with hand tools, levels, and straightedges.

Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment, and conserve resources by efficiently using supplies.

Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Clean, lubricate, and adjust machinery and parts.

Cut and weld metal to repair or fabricate parts and assemble new equipment.

Maintain the operational condition of machinery and equipment used in production and processing.

Record parts and materials used, and requisition new supplies as needed. Document repairs and maintenance activities.

Maintain communication and documentation to ensure team continuity and safety compliance.

General Requirements

Must possess a full set of metric standard tools.
Experience with mechanical devices, pneumatic controls, and welding/cutting.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read mechanical drawings.
Flexibility to work shifts, extended hours, and weekends.
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.

Starting at: $38.05 per hour.
