Position Responsibilities:
- Assemble aircraft structures and associated components with the aid of jigs and fixtures such as drilling, filing, filling, honing, reaming, counter‑sinking, dimpling, burring and fastening under general supervision.
- Setup and use precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, gauges, protractors and calipers.
- Operate common hand tools including drills, reamers, deburrers, files, rivet guns and bucking bars.
- Replace ribs, stiffeners, and stringers in skinned assemblies established from blueprints with firm callouts, butt, center, chord, station and water lines.
- Operate equipment such as brakes, grinders, band saws and presses.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Pickup blind hole locations for blank parts from existing structure and correct cans, buckles, wrinkles in outer skins.
- Identify different types of corrosion, clean and treat corrosion, remove damaged areas, fabricate parts to repair damaged area, determine rivet patterns and layouts with minimal supervision.
- Clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
- Order parts, pan stock, tools, materials and equipment as required to perform assigned duties.
General duties include but are not limited to:
- Operate daily wearing required safety equipment.
- Train and assist newer structures mechanics in proper methods and techniques.
- Communicate using basic computer systems including Microsoft Office as needed.
- Perform other duties as directed by management for the benefit of the company, program, or employees.
- With minimal supervision, perform close tolerance assembly operations such as shimming, fitting, trimming and aligning where variances may occur considerably from one assembly to another as with fairings and the mating of major structural assemblies.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 2+ years of performing aircraft structural and mechanical work.
- 2+ years of experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.
- Proficient working with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant is desirable.

Shift: This position is 1st and/or 2nd shift. Candidates must be able to work either shift.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range
Associate Level (GFD5IB): $55,250 – $74,750
Experienced Level (GFD5IC): $66,300 – $89,700
