Flotech is a subsidiary of Flo Works International LLC, which is a privately held company located in Houston, Texas.

The machinist is responsible for operating machines in support of daily valve repair operations. The machinist is expected to perform hands‑on machining operations, as well as some duties of a valve technician.

• Fabrication of various components of valves
• Daily operations of various manual machines, including lathes, vertical turret lathes, milling machines, drill press, and radial arm drills
• Disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly, and testing of valves at Flotech facilities and client locations
• Follow all schematics and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Control and ASME National Board standards that apply to the job
• Thoroughly complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs
• Travel to job sites and adhere to all site safety and performance requirements
• Communicate timely updates to management, co‑workers and customers to ensure timely and successful completion of job responsibilities
• Work closely with co‑workers, management and safety coordinator to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations

• High School Diploma or GED and at least five (5) years of machinist experience, or equivalent number of years of education and experience
• Proficient in use of multiple manual machines in an industrial setting. Extensive knowledge of machining is a must
• Prefer experience with machining specifically for valve repair
• Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel for off‑site jobs
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

• Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions
• Occasionally loud noise (examples: shop tool noises, electric motors, moving mechanical equipment)
