We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Plant Operator to operate asphalt plant controls, weigh and deliver specified quantities of aggregates and asphalt cement to the dryer for heating and to the mixer for mixing and dumping into trucks. Plant Operators maintain proper heat in the dryer by adjusting thermostatic controls and maintain proper flow of materials. They assist in maintenance of plant equipment and in compiling reports regarding plant production and plant maintenance.

May perform other related duties.

• Operate asphalt plant controls and maintain proper heat in the dryer by adjusting thermostatic controls.
• Weigh and deliver specified quantities of aggregates and asphalt cement to the dryer and to the mixer; monitor material flow and dump into trucks as required.
• Assist in maintenance of plant equipment and in compiling reports regarding plant production and plant maintenance.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

• High school graduate with strong math skills and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Minimum 3 years experience as Asphalt Plant Operator.
• Experience with Astec double barrel components and Gen Corp controls is a plus.
• Computer literate, experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Commercial Driver's License may be required depending on vehicle size (Group B, per 49 CFR 383.91).

Job requires motions such as climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, twisting, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting, reaching. May be required to climb stairs/ladders to the top of the plant. Overtime work is required. May be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather. May be required to ride to and from plant sites.
