Reporting Relationship

This position will report to the Director of Engagement.

Job Brief

We are looking for a detailed, organized, humble yet persistent professional who has experience in major gifts fundraising to support a ministry intent on impacting some of the world’s most vulnerable people. The ideal candidate will focus on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of approximately 150 mid‑level donors, utilizing their ability to manage and grow the portfolio by developing personalized engagement strategies that deepen relationships and inspire continued generosity.

Responsibilities
  • Connect giving families to the impact they are making through their gifts.
  • Manage all aspects of the donor portfolio, from identification and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship.
  • Conduct regular giving family meetings and calls to deepen connections, understand their philanthropic goals, and secure financial commitments.
  • Prepare compelling proposals and presentations to solicit gifts.
  • Research current and prospective donors using wealth screening and other avenues to better inform conversations during the cultivation process.
  • Draft and send donor acknowledgments, both written and digitally, to ensure donors are promptly thanked for their support.
  • Develop a year‑round communication plan to steward the existing portfolio of donors.
  • Respond in a timely manner to incoming donor inquiries.
  • Build rapport and trust, and maintain relationships with staff, business and community leaders, philanthropic individuals, and families across the nation.
  • Promote hand‑off of high‑capacity giving family members to the Director of Engagement as needed.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and complete actions in CRM regularly.
  • Support performance metrics and accountability measures to drive the achievement of strategic objectives and revenue targets.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments as needed to develop targeted engagement opportunities.
  • Support the Events team with planning and execution of donor‑related events, including but not limited to the Gala & Golf Classic.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 4–6 years of experience cultivating and soliciting 5‑figure gifts from individuals or foundations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of fundraising principles and practices.
  • Experience in proposal development & campaign execution.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of 150+ donors.
  • Experience in CRM & database management, such as Raisers Edge, Hub Spot, and/or Virtuous.
  • Exercise considerable independence and judgment with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Outstanding verbal, written communication, and relational skills.
