Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Day Shift

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Day Shift

Join us as an LPN in Jacksonville, Florida to provide healthcare for individuals in the Jacksonville Pre‑Trial Detention Center. This day shift role starts at 7:00 am with rotating weekends and offers a $2.00/hour weekend differential.

Shift Details: 7:00 am – 7:30 am, rotating weekends, $2.00/hour differential for weekend days.

  • Perform patient assessments, interview patients about current health problems, and medication history.
  • Take vital signs: blood pressure, temperature, weight.
  • Provide wound care, cleaning and bandaging.
  • Administer medications including injections and monitor reactions.
  • Maintain medical records via Tech Care electronic health record.
  • Observe patient health and mental status.
  • Provide emergency first aid.
  • Educate patients and plan discharge/release.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • State‑certified Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross preferred).
  • Pass facility criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with Code of Conduct and correctional policies.
  • Visible integrity, professionalism, and teamwork with correctional officers.
  • Ability to stand long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform CPR.
