Hem​/Oncology Baymeadows Infusion RN

Overview

Provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process; performs technical nursing functions; and upholds the standard of practice of a professional nurse in caring for patients. The Registered Nurse is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and functions as charge nurse when assigned. The Registered Nurse directs, delegates and coordinates all nursing care provided throughout the hospital. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

Age of Patients Served: Adult (18-64 years) Geriatric (=>65 years)

Required

Education:

Associate's Degree. Specific course work:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. New hires or transfers into the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in his or her offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position.

Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered.

Preferred Education: BSN

Necessary

Skills:

• Adheres to hospital and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care.
• Familiar with patient care equipment.

Required Licensure/

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida-BLS from the American Heart Association
• Effective November 1, 2018, Oncology Nursing Society/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification required within eighteen (18) months of hire or transfer into the position.

Required Experience: Less than one year related experience.

Preferred Experience: 1-2 years of Oncology experience.
