Registered Nurse (RN) – Interventional Radiology

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Interventional Radiology (IR) provides nursing care to scheduled inpatient, outpatient, routine, emergent, and trauma patients undergoing interventional procedures using imaging equipment in a dedicated aseptic radiology environment. The RN utilizes the nursing process, adheres to professional standards of care, and collaborates with technologists, anesthesia providers, and proceduralist MDs.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing all staff nurse activities in the pre‑op, procedural, and post‑op phases of care.
• Administering moderate sedation and monitoring patients throughout procedures.
• Serving as Charge Nurse when assigned and maintaining overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients.
• Delegating appropriate activities to ancillary support staff while ensuring quality and safety.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Graduate of an accredited school of nursing).
• BSN required for new hires effective June 14, 2017; existing employees grandfathered per prior conditions.
• Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association (PALS within six months of hire/transfer).
• 1–2 years of experience in Emergency Department, ICU, Radiology, or procedural areas (GI Lab, Cath Lab, etc.) or successful completion of an IR Nurse Fellowship program.
• Preferred 2–3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and computer proficiency skills.
