Job Summary:

Baptist Medical Center is looking to add a Charge Registered Nurse to join our Main Operating Room at our Baptist Jacksonville location. This is a Full-time, Day shift opportunity. This role requires call with a 40-minute response time and qualifies for competitive call and differential pay.

As a Registered Nurse in the Main Operating Room, you will work closely with physicians and all operating room teams. The RN will check-in, receive patient assignments, and the daily responsibilities vary based on scheduled surgeries. The RN may work with a single patient in a complex case or with multiple patients having shorter procedures. You will work as a Circulating Nurse, meet patients in the OR, and remain with them for the duration of their procedure to ensure appropriate care until transfer to PACU.

As the patient’s primary advocate, you will deliver and document patient care during the intraoperative period, verify patient information, position the patient, manage the room, and initiate counts.

Baptist Medical Center s Main OR houses 16 state-of-the-art operating rooms with 3 Da Vinci Surgical System robots. Most surgeries are routine elective cases and include a wide variety of procedures, such as general surgery, bariatrics, ENT, plastics reconstructions, GYN, neurology and spine. This location also supports the Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute and BMDA cancer center.

• Providing for patient needs as recognized through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement of the organization
• Supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care by ancillary services
• Involving patients and significant others in developing an individualized plan of care
• Education of patients and families about their disease process and plan of care
• Coordination and preparation of assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs, and anticipation of case needs

Education Required

• Associate s Degree - Nursing

Education Preferred

• Bachelor s Degree - Nursing

Experience

• 2-3 years Surgical Services Experience
• 2-3 years Critical Care Nursing Experience

License and Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
• Conscious Sedation Certification Preferred
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Preferred
• Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Preferred
• Licensed Registered Nurse Required
