Job Summary and QualificationsThe
Cardiac
Step Down/Progressive Care (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the Cardiac PCU RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The
Cardiac
PCU RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.
Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
- Hospital sponsored opportunity to obtain the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certifications Board (MSNCB) - Fail Safe Certification Program for CMSRN exam or other relevant Certifications with monetary incentives
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing:
Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is requiredMust be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider is required - ok to be obtained within 30 days of transfer/hire
At least 6 months previous RN work experience required
This is a Full Time, Day Shift position. Shifts are 12 hours in length (approximately 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM).
Rotating Weekends and Holidays are required.
