Operating Room Open Heart Nurse in Jacksonville This position involves working within the Operating Room specializing in open heart procedures, including cardiac, neuro, ortho trauma cases, and vascular surgeries. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including some weekends and call, to support a Level 1 trauma facility in a major metropolitan area.

  The healthcare provider is seeking an Operating Room RN with recent cardiac (open heart) experience, with at least 2 years of total RN experience and prior travel experience.
• Certifications, Education, and
  
  Experience:
  
  Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license (must be included in submission file), BLS required, ACLS preferred at time of submission, minimum of 2 years RN experience with recent cardiac (open heart) assignments, at least 12 months within the last year at a Level 1 trauma or academic medical institution.
• Work Schedule:
  
  Days, 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, from 07:00 AM to 05:30 PM, duration approximately 13 weeks starting 11/16/2026. Flexibility is essential due to variable days and call requirements.
• Responsibilities include covering cardiac, neuro, ortho trauma cases, vascular surgeries, and functioning as both scrub and circulating nurse when needed.
• Requirements include passing a basic specialty competency exam and EKG interpretation with at least an 80% score. Strong cardiac rhythm review prior to start is recommended.
• Additional information:
  All new RN starts must pass orientation requirements and have no employment gaps over 30 days without documented explanations.
• Submission Requirements:
  Resume with facility type, EMR, bed count, and at least one professional reference from within the last 12 months; maximum of 8 RTO days permitted for the 13-week contract; no RTO during the first two weeks.
