Overview
We are hiring immediately for a full-time DINING ON-CALL SUPERVISOR position at Ascension St. Vincent, 4201 Belfort Road, Jacksonville, FL 33216. Online applications are accepted only.
Schedule:
full-time, 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Days may vary, including rotating weekends. Further details upon interview.
- Previous supervisor experience in healthcare or food service preferred.
- Fixed Pay Rate: $18.30 per hour.

Job SummarySummary:
Responsible for coordinating patient meal service (e.g., menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pickup, special requests and needs for Dining on Call Program). Ensures employees are adequately trained and units are properly staffed to provide service.
- Responsible for Nutrition Operators, Workstation and Wait Staff Associates.
- Oversees systems and processes to achieve the Dining on Call service objectives.
- Assists in the selection and orientation of employees and oversees training of Dining on Call staff.
- Works with Nutrition Operators to accommodate menu variations per diet restrictions, allergies, sensitivities, culture, ethnicity, and religious preferences when a patient inquires or needs additional selections.
- Evaluates patient meal selection, tray completion, delivery, and retrieval processes daily.
- Responds to patient needs; resolves concerns or reports needed assistance to the supervisor as appropriate.
- Complies with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets within diet order guidelines.
- Oversees development and implementation of action plans within Dining on Call service, as appropriate.
- Coordinates and oversees daily and weekly activities/tasks performed by Dining on Call staff.
- Develops and posts employee schedules according to department policy.
- Updates and communicates job flow changes of Dining on Call positions, as applicable.
- Interacts with nursing to ensure patients' diet prescriptions are accurate and needs are met.
- Communicates patient-related problems to appropriate personnel in a timely manner following departmental procedures.
- Submits all required documentation, reports, and logs in a timely, professional, and complete manner.
- Visits patients on an assigned unit or area to ensure a management or professional member visits each patient at least once during their hospital stay.
- Complies with regulatory agency standards (federal, state, and JCAHO) and health and sanitation regulations.
- Follows HACCP guidelines when receiving, assembling, and distributing food supplies to ensure quality and safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
