Overview

Early Morning Stock Associate at Ross Stores, Inc.

Hours:

6am to 2:30pm.

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform a range of tasks in all areas of the Store as business needs require, and may be requested to perform additional tasks in specific situations to help achieve customer service and operational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; remains friendly and professional at all times.
  • Assists Customers as needed—register-trained, helps with merchandise, and answers Customer questions politely and knowledgeably; greets Customers with eye contact, smiles, and cordial words throughout the Store and thanks Customers at the register.
  • Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers; responds to Customer Service calls immediately and escalates to Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies) to maintain merchandise, customer, and Team areas; disinfects high-touch areas including the front-end, sales floor, and restrooms.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company’s dress code.
  • Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, organized store that is well-maintained and merchandised to standards.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandises items per guidelines, and maintains brand name familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
  • Understands Loss Prevention Awareness, the Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards; follows MOS policies for identification, processing, and disposal review with Store Leadership.
  • Safeguards confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise; demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions.
  • Follows policies and procedures for cash, check, charge card, refunds, voids, and offline transactions; maintains accuracy when handling bankable tenders.
  • Performs tasks with a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and efficiency by following Store best practices.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
  • Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
  • Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
