EXPERIENCED (JOURNEYMAN) MEAT CUTTER (Blanding)

We are looking for a MEAT CUTTER to join our Rowe's team. The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality, freshness, safety, and profitability of Rowe’s fresh cut meat products. Attention to detail is necessary in this role as you will be preparing all cuts of beef, pork, and poultry for sale in the meat service cases. This is a skilled craftsman role that will follow the market manager’s merchandising plan as well as trim/preparation standards while also delivering exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide exceptional customer service including greeting customers and answering questions with a positive attitude.
  • Cuts and prepares all varieties and cuts of meat while safely operating cutting equipment.
  • Moves and return meat to and from coolers/cutting area
  • Maintains high sanitization and presentation standards.
  • Assists in other duties as assigned.
  • Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • Assists as needed to ensure the success of the store.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to deliver friendly and prompt customer service.
  • Ability to read, write, and do simple math.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and problem solve.
  • Ability to work well with others and work well as a team
  • Continually strives to be product minded, customer minded, personnel minded, detailed, consistent and forward focused.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • A passion for serving others
  • Prior experience is preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Meat Cutters perform duties primarily in the cutting area, where the temperature always ranges from 38 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Work involves reaching, bending, balancing, and carrying product weighing up to 100 pounds, repetitive arm and hand movements, eye-hand coordination, significant hand strength, and standing in place for long periods of time.
