Job Description – Specialty Sales Associate – Uniforms (Part‑time with benefits).

Job Summary: As a Specialty Sales Associate you will be the face of our company. You get to highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. Through your specialty knowledge you will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services.

- Customer Service – Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
- Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise informing them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers and STAR card.
- Provide premier customer service.
- Cooperate and build positive, inclusive and respectful relationships; take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
- Use specific knowledge to demonstrate product features and provide comparisons with similar products.
- When selling clothing or military uniforms may be required to take upper and lower body measurements for the purpose of ensuring proper fit of tailored articles.
- Maintain store appearance.
- Cross‑sell products and know the layout of the store.
- Make suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on customer individual needs.
- Upsell products.
- Learn product features, keep up with the latest trends, and leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide the customer with product knowledge specifications.
- Use a Point‑of‑Sale system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards and cash handling including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers.
- Complete various forms of paperwork, reports and reconciliation.
- Handle special order merchandise requests, including ordering, tracking and providing updates to customers.
- Be the keeper of merchandise, complete all inventory processes and make sure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- May participate in periodic inventories.
- Adhere to assigned work schedule.
- Provide accurate and complete follow‑through on work assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- In‑depth technical knowledge of how products work, warranties and ability to compare products by features.
- 1–2 years of retail or relevant work experience required; 6 months of product‑specific experience required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers and management.
- Ability to communicate on the telephone with proper etiquette.
- Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Ability to use a calculator and calculate percentages and ratios.
- Ability to multi‑task while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently of direct supervision.
- Ability to understand and problem‑solve customer needs.
This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours. It may occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The role involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs in some departments. Work is typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending upon location.

General ExperienceSix months of responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales store work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily in the position to be filled.
Substitution of Education for ExperienceGraduation from a full‑time 4‑year or senior high school or possession of a General Education Development (GED) Certificate may be substituted for the experience requirements.
