Responsible for enforcement, assistance, direction and follow‑up security services utilizing tact, diplomacy and concern for customers and staff. Accountable for ensuring service excellence for all internal and external customers and staff. Patrol and maintain order and safe working conditions throughout all assigned buildings and grounds.

• Enforce security protocols and respond to incidents across UF Health facilities.
• Assure safety and well‑being of patients, visitors, staff, and visitors.
• Provide assistance and directions with courteous and professional service.
• Maintain a presentable appearance in personal hygiene and uniform.
• Diffuse and control situations involving anger, confusion and threatening conditions.

• Required
  
  Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred Education: AA/AS degree or college courses in criminal justice, law enforcement or related field.
• Required Skills: Reason and make decisions independently; maintain visual attractiveness; initiate outreach and assistance; present a positive attitude; utilize a considerate and comforting tone; diffuse and control threatening situations; remain calm during verbal or physical threats; present professional attitude on the telephone.

  Certifications:
  
  Valid Florida or Georgia driver’s license with clean record.
• Required Experience: 1–2 years security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Preferred Experience: 3–5 years security in a hospital environment.
