Installation Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Wayne Automatic Fire Sprinklers Inc. (WAFS) is a family business that has been serving the fire protection industry for over 47 years. We have 7 branches across Florida and North Carolina and pride ourselves on our open‑book culture, weekly pay, performance bonuses (PIPs), and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). We’re looking for a Fire Sprinkler Service Dept. Fitter in our Jacksonville, FL branch to work in the surrounding area.
Dayto Day Responsibilities
Work closely with the Service Foreman on job sites to troubleshoot, repair, and install fire sprinkler systems accurately, on schedule, and within budget. Follow procedures and instructions to troubleshoot, repair, add/relocate, and install fire sprinkler systems. Attend monthly safety meetings at the local branch. Working outside on job sites for long hours in all seasons, including summer months. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, bending, lifting, and climbing.
Lifting will include up to 70 pounds.
- Construction experience preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools.
- Travel within the local community is required.
- Must possess the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to wear proper protective equipment as required on all job sites.
- Working outside on job sites for long hours in all seasons including summer months.
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test and pre‑employment background check screening including 10 years of employment verification is required to be hired at Wayne Automatic.
