Job Summary
Performs journeyman level work in the fabrication and installation of wooden cabinets, shelves, moldings and related fixtures. This entrance level class lies below that of Millshop Carpenter Foreperson.
Essential Functions
Probation: Six (6) months
Qualifications
Open Requirements: Four (4) years of cabinet making experience and/or related millshop carpentry work. Time spent in an approved apprenticeship program for this class may be counted toward the experience requirements. A valid Florida driver's license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment in this class.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of the tools, methods and practices of cabinet making.
- Knowledge of the safety rules and regulations involved in the use of power tools involved in such work.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Strong skills in the care and use of tools and equipment used in the millshop carpentry trade.
- Basic oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic word processing and database software skills.
- Ability to work from sketches, blueprints, diagrams and drawings.
- Ability to set up and use millshop machinery.
- Ability to estimate time and material requirements.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
