Field Services Telecommunications Technician (Hospital Setting)

Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining telecommunications systems in a hospital environment, including Daisy chain software phone setups. The role ensures reliable communication infrastructure for clinical and administrative operations.

• Installation & Configuration:
  • Perform Daisy chain software phone installations for VoIP and analog systems.
  • Set up and test telephony devices (emergency phones, intercoms, facsimile terminals).
  • Run new wiring and replace jacks, lids, and pedestals as needed.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and resolve technical faults in telecommunications systems.
  • Troubleshoot POTS/analog lines for alarm panels and elevator systems.
  • Handle move/add/change requests for phones and related equipment.
• Project Work:
  • Participate in large‑scale upgrades and hospital technology projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and IT teams for system integration.
• Compliance & Safety:
  • Maintain inventory of hardware/software and adhere to hospital safety standards.
  • Ensure installations meet infection control and HIPAA compliance requirements.

• High school diploma or equivalent technical training.
• 1–2 years of experience in telephony or low‑voltage cabling.
• Familiarity with VoIP systems and IP networking basics.
• Familiarity with digital/analog cross‑connect wiring and patch panels.
• Tools such as punch‑down kits, tone generators, and test sets.
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• BICSI, Network+, or A+ certifications.
• Experience with PBX provisioning and hospital‑grade telecom systems.

This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

The pay range for this position is $22.00–$25.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
