SE Electrician

Summary

Read and interpret plans and specifications; layout conduit systems for underground and dock; install and terminate conductors and cables; install electrical service and distribution equipment; order materials and plan work in advance. Dependability for work schedule and compliance with safety rules and regulations are essential. Employees must participate in random drug screening per our Drug Free Workplace policy and may need to travel to other job sites within the division.

• Project layout and material ordering
• Receive, inventory, and store materials on the job site in an orderly fashion
• Install conduits, cable, transformers, distribution panels, and power pedestals
• Use power tools to drill, cut, or remove concrete, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and plastics
• Troubleshoot and test existing systems for faults, shorts, low voltage, or other problems
• Install and troubleshoot kilowatt‑hour meters
• Use standard test equipment: megger, ammeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter, circuit tracer, telephone test set, telephone toner, and power quality analyzer
• Properly connect single‑phase and three‑phase transformers, including voltage tap adjustment
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of marine and vessel electrical systems is a plus.
• Employee must possess a valid Florida State Journeyman Electrician certificate.
