Aircraft WORKER Security Clearance

Job Responsibilities

• You will disassemble and assemble major aircraft components, such as control surfaces and landing gear, for overhaul or modification by following detailed procedures.
• You will perform repairs by removing and replacing worn or damaged parts like gaskets, hydraulic lines, and fuel cells.
• You will install, align, and adjust aircraft systems, assemblies, and components according to established guidelines.
• You will inspect, disassemble, and reassemble aircraft parts and accessories, including armament mounts, hydraulic components, and environmental control systems.
• You will use common hand tools, measuring devices, and test equipment to perform maintenance and repairs.
• You will work as part of a team under the direction of senior employees to assist with complex operations like jacking aircraft or installing engines.
• You will assist with operational checkouts on the flight line, using hand signals to communicate with pilots and inspecting engines for leaks.
• You will perform flight line support duties such as standing fire guard during engine starts and operating ground power equipment.
• You will perform minor preservation duties, including inspecting aircraft for leaks and lubricating landing gear components.
• You will service aircraft systems by flushing contaminants, replacing desiccants, and obtaining oil samples for analysis.
• You will perform basic corrosion control, prepare aircraft for washing, and install protective coverings.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must pass the E‑Verify employment verification check.
• Clearance:
  You must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance before duty. Failure to maintain clearance may result in withdrawal of job offer or removal.
• Drug test:
  Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. Failure to comply may rescind an offer.
• Medical requirements:
  You will participate in medical surveillance programs and complete a pre‑appointment physical examination.
• Travel:
  This position may require travel to CONUS and OCONUS, including extended periods on military or commercial aircraft.
• Mission essential:
  You will be required to ensure continuity of operations for tasks considered essential to the mission.
• Vision:
  Near vision correctable to 14″ or Jaeger; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/…; eye protection required in hazardous areas.
• Noise:
  Exposure to noise levels continuously exceeding 85 dBA; hearing protection must be worn.
• Physical:
  The job requires moderate lifting and carrying of objects up to 40 lbs. Tasks include standing, sitting, walking, pulling, pushing, stooping, and kneeling for extended periods.
• Hours:
  
  This position requires overtime, rotating shift work, and may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

• No specific education requirement.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in aircraft maintenance and repair, including interpreting technical specifications, installing and aligning mechanical systems, and using precision measuring instruments.
• Experience:
  
  Paid, unpaid, or volunteer experience in aviation or related fields is acceptable; emphasis is on the quality of experience.
