We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Pipelayer to join our Jacksonville team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of pipe installation operations, working closely with your crew to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency on every project.

What You’ll DoServe as the lead in the trench
, coordinating daily activities and communicating goals with the crew and foreman.
Install large-diameter utility pipe accurately and efficiently, maintaining proper grade, depth, and alignment.
Set up and operate lasers for grade control, verifying elevations and alignment.
Maintain organization and crew flow to ensure projects stay productive and on schedule.
Support and mentor team members, modeling Petticoat-Schmitt’s commitment to safety, precision, and teamwork.
What We’re Looking ForExperience & Skills
Minimum 6 months of experience as a pipelayer.
Hands‑on experience installing large‑diameter pipe in commercial or public infrastructure construction.
Understanding of trench safety, compaction, and installation best practices.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to read grades and use a grade stick or laser to maintain proper elevations.
Physical Requirements
Willing and able to climb in/out of trenches and work 20–30 feet below grade.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must have reliable transportation within the Jacksonville area (Duval, Clay, Nassau, and St. Johns Counties).
Available to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed.
