Position Overview
As a Senior Software Tester within PNC’s Technology organization, you can be based in Pittsburgh, PA;
Miamisburg, OH;
Dallas, TX; or Jacksonville, FL.
PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of our applications through comprehensive testing strategies. This role requires strong expertise in test planning, execution, and automation within an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced problem‑solving skills, mentor junior testers, and drive continuous improvement in testing practices.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and automated scripts for complex applications.
- Lead quality assurance efforts across multiple projects, ensuring adherence to testing standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to validate system behavior.
- Analyze defects, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Mentor and guide junior testers, promoting knowledge sharing and technical growth.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in testing processes and tools.
- Proven experience in software testing with a focus on manual and automated testing.
- Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and scripting languages.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, TDD/BDD concepts, and the SDLC.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Hands‑on experience with tools such as Selenium, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, JUnit, or similar.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with automated testing.
- Exposure to technologies such as .NET, Angular, SQL Server for effective collaboration with development teams.
- Provides detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
- Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs.
- Writes code, tests, and deploys software.
- Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software.
- Maintains and debugs software.
- Customer Focused – Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
- Managing Risk – Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
Base Salary: $55,000.00 — $. Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
