Position Summary
The Assistant Beach Volleyball Coach assists the Head Coach in the daily operations of the University of North Florida's NCAA Division I beach volleyball program. This position focuses primarily on operational, administrative, and logistical support while contributing to a positive student-athlete experience and the overall success of the program. The role operates in compliance with NCAA, ASUN Conference, and University policies.
Key Responsibilities- Program Operations and Administration
- Assist with day-to-day operational needs of the beach volleyball program
- Coordinate team travel logistics, including transportation, lodging, itineraries, and meals
- Assist with scheduling practices, matches, and facility usage
- Manage equipment inventory, uniforms, and gear distribution
- Support home event operations, including setup, breakdown, and game-day logistics
- Assist with budget tracking and purchasing requests as directed
- Student-Athlete Support
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture
- Assist with monitoring student-athlete academic progress and well-being
- Serve as a role model and mentor, reinforcing University and athletic department values
- Recruiting Support (as permitted)
- Assist with recruiting organization, communication, and logistics in accordance with NCAA rules
- Coordinate recruiting visits and maintain recruiting databases
- Compliance and Professional Conduct
- Ensure compliance with NCAA, ASUN Conference, and University of North Florida rules and regulations
- Complete required compliance education and documentation
- Represent UNF Athletics with professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship
- Additional Duties
- Assist with alumni, community, and fundraising events as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Administration
- Playing or coaching experience in beach volleyball at the collegiate or competitive level
- Experience in athletic operations or administrative support
- Familiarity with NCAA Division I athletic programs
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
- Knowledge of beach volleyball rules, techniques, and operations
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, and staff
This position requires a background check. In conjunction with the University's policy, this position may also require a credit check.
