SCHOOL BUS DRIVER POSITION SUMMARY

Provide safe, courteous bus transportation for school events and calendared field trips.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Exercise maximum regard for the safety and welfare of all transported students while operating a school bus
• Assist students in the loading and unloading process
• Communicate effectively and professionally with school staff and the public
• Provide maximum safety for passengers while on the bus and during loading and unloading
• Maintain orderly conduct of pupils and manage them in a positive and effective way
• Complete the school bus driver training program as prescribed by state and local policies
• Obey all traffic laws

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be of good moral character
• Excellent driving record
• Valid driver’s license for at least 5 years
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, DOT physical, and dexterity test
• Good verbal skills
• Be well-groomed and maintained in personal appearance, as well as be well mannered

JOB TYPE

Be part of the on-call list during the 180-day school year.

PAY

$20.00 per hour.

EXPERIENCE

School Bus Driving:
Minimum 2 years (Preferred)

LICENSE / CERTIFICATION

• CDL (Required)
• School Bus (S) Endorsement (Required)
