This position is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients of the Center for Family Medicine. Duties will include a combination of patient care, research, and teaching activities.
Examples of Duties Teaching (15%)- Actively precept as teaching physician in resident outpatient clinics, including patient care aspects, procedural skills, time management, doctor-patient relationship, professionalism, ethical and legal considerations, and billing and coding.
- Provide direct patient care to own panel of patients at the Jacksonville site.
- Conduct procedure clinics as needed per patient demand.
- Participate in Center Peer Review and Quality Improvement activities.
- Provide emergency services to patients, including those identified as having no primary care physician.
- Serve on the Center-wide Committees, as assigned.
- Serve on school and department committees, as assigned.
- Participate in community boards and outreach projects.
- Attend faculty meetings and residency didactic sessions.
- Conduct research in areas of particular interest and publish in relevant journals.
- Attend/present at national professional meetings.
- Complete a minimum of two scholarly activities every five years, in accordance with RRC requirements.
- Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
- Must possess an MD or DO degree.
- Must have graduated from an accredited residency training program at the time of hire.
- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine at the time of hire.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois.
The budgeted annual salary range is $220,375 to $242,412, representing the academic base salary only, which is funded through the University. The final academic base salary will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget considerations. Additional clinical compensation will be provided separately through a member practice agreement
