Clinical IT SpecialistThe main functions of a Clinical IT Specialist include collaborating with clinicians, providers, and IT to provide daily IT support and analyze clinical IT requirements specific to the organization.
Job Details DescriptionThe Clinical IT Specialist is responsible for collaborating across disciplines to support clinical workflows, implement process change initiatives, and serve as a resource for clinical IT systems.
Primary Responsibilities- Lead and participate in clinical process change initiatives across departments.
- Provide application support, troubleshooting, training, and analytics.
- Support hardware installation and maintenance.
- Maintain and administer Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Manage clinical equipment and IT systems.
- Act as a liaison between clinical teams, end users, and vendors.
- Ensure smooth clinical workflows and lead process improvements.
- Assist in defining metrics to measure process changes and support ongoing optimization.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve efficiency and patient safety.
- Support multiple applications and participate in new system implementations.
- Make timely decisions regarding clinical IT products and workflows.
- Maintain professionalism in interactions with internal and external resources.
- Handle confidential information appropriately.
- Work in both office and clinical environments.
- Maintain clinical competency through ongoing education.
- Bachelor’s degree with three years of clinical experience or diploma/associate degree with two years of clinical experience.
- Experience with EHR systems in ambulatory settings.
- Self-motivated team player with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and mentor others.
- Prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge in orientation, communication, critical analysis, and customer service.
- Use of technology and software to support activities.
- Maintain clinical competency as per leadership requirements.
- Understanding of quality improvement principles.
- Flexible scheduling, travel, after-hours, and weekend support required.
